It is recommended that you make 1 million gold points from merchanting or basic moneymaking techniques before continuing on to investment. There are certain risks to investing, so I recommend investing only half your gold at any given time, in case something goes wrong.

Investment in Runescape is just like investment in real life – you simply buy items for a low price and sell the items later for more money. Unlike merchanting, which takes advantage of the price differences in certain worlds and areas, investment takes advantage of the price differences over different times.

The key to good investment is to observe the prices of items over a long period of time. For example, if the price of a certain item was 1 million gold yesterday, and today it’s 1.5 million, buy one. The next day, the price is likely to go up.

Oftentimes, the prices of weapons and armor will go through a dramatic "price drop," which will only last for a limited window of time. Once a price drop happens on a particular item, buy as many of them as possible for the cheapest possible price. Then, as soon as the price goes back to normal, sell all the items that you bought. This is a great way to earn millions of gold in a small amount of time. As always, keep an eye on the current prices to watch out for any price drops!

Keep charts and records of the prices of all the items that you're investing in. This way, you can easily track an item's progress and see exactly when it's time to buy or sell it.

So how will you make billions by simply investing in items?
