What is Basic Gold Making?

The basic gold techniques that are listed in the next few sections are low level techniques that you can do if you have little or no gold. If you don’t have any more than 50k gold, then I suggest you use the methods described in the Basic Gold Making section. Here I will describe methods of earning Runescape gold that are invaluable to players who are new to Runescape.

The Basic Gold Making part of this guide is geared for newer, less experienced players, so please feel free to skip ahead if you have a lot of knowledge about Runescape. Also, expert players will find this section unhelpful because most experts already know these techniques.

As a general rule of thumb, you should follow the tips and tricks in this section until you have 50,000gp to set aside for merchanting. After you earn more than two million gold with merchanting items, use half of it for investing in rare items (merchanting and investing are explained in later portions of this guide). Following this guideline, you'll be making billions of profit in no time!

A very nice method of making gold for very low level players (10 and below) is to kill chickens and sell their feathers for market price. Also, this way, you'll gain combat experience as well as Runescape gold. I recommend selling them once you obtain at least 1000 feathers, but the more you sell at a time, the better. Look for a buyer in the Runescape forums and send them a message in game to set up a trade.
